If there’s a warning sign, that means there’s something we must beware of. But to be able to beware of something we must first be aware of it.
Jesus warned us to “Watch out for false prophets (teachers).”
1. Who are the false teachers?
-They deceive the people! They are disguising themselves as harmless sheep but inside they are dangerous wolves. They try to look nice and appear to be genuine but their hearts are actually full of lies and tricks.
-They reject the truth! They are denying or twisting the truth of the Gospel and adding or subtracting from God’s word.
-They are spiritually blind! They can't see the way to heaven because there's no light(Jesus)in them. Jesus is the LIGHT!
- Thus, they lead God’s people astray from God with their lies and false teachings.
2. How do we know whether s/he is true or false?
-We must recognize them by their fruits– by what they think, say and do.
3. What are the bad fruit and good fruit?
-Bad fruit: violence, pride, laziness, being stubborn, greed, immorality, dissension, lying tongue (나쁜열매: 혈기, 교만, 태만, 고집, 탐심, 간음, 음란, 형제사이를 이간하는 것, 거짓, 등)
-Good fruit: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (좋은열매: 사랑, 희락, 화평, 인자, 자비, 양선, 충성, 온유, 절제)
God’s children accept Jesus as their personal God and savior and bear good fruit.
