Solomon asked God for wisdom to rule God's people well and God granted him divine wisdom.  One day two women who were having a big fight came to Solomon.  Both of them lived in the same house and each of the women had given birth to a baby 3 days apart. One night one of the women rolled over on top of her own baby and it died. Then this woman switched the babies. Now they are claiming that they are the mother of a living baby.

How did Solomon’s wisdom help him discover the real mother?

• He knew the love that mothers have for their children.
  
• He tried to see the love in the hearts of these two mothers
  
• The true mother and fake mother had been discovered by their own words. (Our words reflect what is in our heart.)
  

God helped Solomon to understand the hearts of mothers for their children and solve this problem by looking at a person’s heart.  We need wisdom when we work with God, and without it, we can't carry out His command.  God's wisdom enables us to look at a person’s heart and solve the problem with an understanding heart.
